Hey everybody! I had to take a break from blogging for a bit as I was busy getting my eBay store ready for the upcoming holiday season. (If you like to indulge your geeky side you can get some fun geeky jewelry, funko pops and other geekery in my shop @ erinandsky.com!) You know how it goes as a single parent. You’ve got to embrace any hustle you can to make ends meet. Now that I have that settled I’m ready to get back to writing.
While I was away, I also finished up my Christmas shopping. I’m one of those crazy people that likes to have my shopping done as early as possible. This year I had it all done by Halloween. It’s probably a personal record. My daughter, of course, is sure to be thoroughly spoiled but my favorite gifts for her are the mountain of books I’ve amassed from shopping on eBay.
Books are the one item that I never feel guilty about spoiling little Sky with. My daughter can’t get enough of them and I’m hoping that she never grows out of that as I’m a pretty big book nerd myself. Buying books can get a bit pricey if you’re set on buying them new though so I’ve found some really great used bookstores on eBay to get the most bang for my buck. I have compiled a list of my favorite used booksellers on eBay for you guys just in case you want to score some great deals for Christmas morning too. 🙂
This is my favorite used bookseller on eBay. They often have Buy 2 or 3 Get 1 free deals on all of their books and they have an amazing selection and excellent customer service. They have a fantastic selection of Toddler Books.
They also have a great selection which also includes DVD’s. Right now they have a buy 2 get 1 free promo in their shop but even when they aren’t running this promo the prices are fantastic. The only drawback to this seller is that their stock isn’t very organized in their shop but if you enjoy digging for a deal I suggest checking them out.
This seller’s shop is really well organized and has over a million titles in stock at any time, thousands of them being just toddler book titles! They often run deals although not as often as the first two sellers that I mentioned. The shipping is pretty quick but I have found that their customer service leaves a little to be desired. Still, the pricing and selection are worth a look.
I adore this store! They share profits with a variety of non-profits and schools throughout New England which I think is incentive enough to give them a look. They often run buy 2 get 1 free deals and ship quickly.
As a side note, you can also buy books from Goodwill on eBay and the pricing is pretty reasonable. I’ve gotten a lot of books through these sellers and the quality and service have been excellent. Through all of these sellers, you can get some pretty great titles. If you try shopping for book collections too you can get even more for your money. So far I have purchased every Big Book of Beginners Books in the Dr. Seuss series and all of the Little Critter Collection Books. These collections usually offer 5-7 books within them and you can find them with these sellers at around $3-4 a pop!
Also, I’d like to mention the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. We didn’t qualify for this service but I have friends that live down South that were able to take advantage of it. Through this program, they will ship you one book a month from the birth of your child until they go to school. That is pretty amazing!
Well, that’s all that I have for today. Do you have any tips and tricks for scoring books for your child? Let us know in the comments below! Until next time Kangas! Stay strong, radiate positivity and love fiercely!
